Minimum Driving Age
- Learner’s Permit: Available at age 16.

Points System
Massachusetts uses a surchargeable events system:
- Moving violations and certain offenses are tracked.
- 3 surchargeable events in 2 years: Required to complete a driver retraining course.
- 7 surchargeable events in 3 years: Automatic 60-day license suspension.
- Certain serious violations result in immediate suspension or revocation.
Insurance Requirements
Minimum liability insurance coverage:
- Bodily Injury: $20,000 per person / $40,000 per accident.
