PRESIDENT OF VELOCITY POWERBOATS
SCOTT MCCORMICK
Scott McCormick (President of Velocity Powerboats) and Bob Spitilski (former Seattle Seahawks linebacker) reunited in 2024, racing together for the first time in nearly 22 years.
They didn’t just ease back in; during that first season, McCormick and Spitulski immediately brought home the Class 600 World Championship Title. They haven’t looked back since.
Now, backed by Ride Legal, the Class 600 World Champions are ready to debut as the new, officially branded Ride Legal Race Team for the 2026 Season.
DRIVER
BOB SPITULSKI
Bob Spitulski brings elite athletic pedigree and championship focus to the cockpit. A Sanford, Florida native and University of Central Florida graduate, Spitulski earned AP All-American honors as a linebacker in 1991 and was later inducted into the UCF Hall of Fame. Selected in the third round of the NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks, he went on to build a five-year professional football career defined by discipline and competitive drive.
Now in his 12th season of professional powerboat racing, Spitulski has translated that same intensity to offshore competition. His résumé includes three National APBA Championships, two APBA/UIM World Championships, and a coveted Triple Crown Championship. A proven high-speed performer, he has set three world speed records and captured five speed records at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout.
Behind the wheel, Spitulski is known for precision, composure in heavy water, and the ability to execute under pressure.
